Here’s what we know:

A bodyguard at Beyonce’s popular Renaissance tour has gone viral after fans spotted him during a performance, here’s what happened and what fans are saying.

Beyonce and Taylor Swift’s world tours are making massive noise, bringing in a lot of income, and providing countless celebrity appearances. The Rennaisance Tour has seen Beyonce doing what she does best: performing her heart out, and fans have been lapping it up. Meanwhile, several moments from these concerts are going quite viral.

A video of a security guard recruited at the Renaissance Tour has been spreading around the Internet after fans noticed him smiling during Beyonce’s performance. Here’s what happened, why netizens are swooning over him, and what they have to say about the moment.

Beyonce’s bodyguard goes viral on the Internet

On Sunday, August 6, Beyonce was performing her song Energy during her concert at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. In the video, the 41-year-old sings the lyrics, “Look around, everybody on mute” and the crowd went quiet that very moment. The viral bodyguard, who was standing guard near the stage, couldn’t help but smile at this. Seconds later, the music and the performance continued but fans noticed the security guard and the video went viral.

“The security looked so impressed with that Mute,” one user wrote and the tweet has over 14.6 million impressions. While many users found the moment cute, several wanted to know who he was because they found him good-looking. Another user quoted the tweet and said, “He knows he’s cute,” with another video of the bodyguard waving at the camera.

Who is Beyonce’s viral bodyguard?

A third joked, “Being attractive must be a requirement for all of Beyonce’s security guards.” Meanwhile, the security personnel is James Plaza, a professional bodybuilder. According to his bio, he’s a Men’s Physique Pro Athlete. His username is @james_plaza_physique, but he has turned his Instagram account private since he went viral. Beyonce’s tour will wrap up its North American leg on September 27 in New Orleans after starting off on July 8 in Toronto.

Beyonce and Renaissance World Tour create history

As per reports, the Renaissance World Tour has raked in over $296 million and Beyonce has made history by holding five of the top 10 titles on the all-time list of top-grossing concert tours by Black artists. She ranks in positions two to five and two of those positions are shared with her husband, rapper Jay-Z. The Renaissance tour is now Beyonce’s highest-grossing but also the highest-grossing tour by an R&B or Black artist in Boxscore history.

The singer also declared on her official website that Landover, Maryland was the “eerbody on mute war winner”

Beyoncé isn’t the only one turning heads on her tour.

A security guard on her Renaissance World Tour went viral after fans noticed his smile during the singer’s performance of “Energy” during her concert at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, on Sunday.

A TikTok video captured the moment when Beyoncé, 41, sang the lyrics, “look around, everybody on mute” and the crowd went quiet. The bodyguard, who stood below the stage, broke into a smirk before the music continued.

The video has so far garnered more than 6,000 views on TikTok

The conversation spilled over on X, formerly known as Twitter, where one user wrote: “The security looked so impressed with that ‘Mute’ 😂.” Another commenter added, “It’s the smile for me.”

The “CUFF IT” singer even declared on her official website that the city was the “eerbody on mute war winner.”

The Grammy winner has issued the “eerbody on mute” challenge throughout her multi-city tour, which encourages the audience to remain silent during that particular lyric. The single is featured on her seventh studio album Renaissance.

After the video went viral, the bodyguard was identified by Entertainment Tonight as James Plaza, who is reportedly a professional bodybuilder.

The Renaissance World Tour has already spawned several viral moments, including a video of Oprah Winfrey dancing with Tina Knowles and Gayle King to the singer’s “Break My Soul” at her concert at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

“I have never in my life experienced something as transcendent,” Winfrey, 69, wrote of the footage.

“That kind of talent, synergy, expression, and anointing is something that comes straight from a Source that creates the planets,” Winfrey added. “The dancers, the production, the musicians, and the team in front and behind the scenes, all perfectly align to create a renaissance in today’s world. You must see it 🪩💃🏽.”

The singer’s sister, Solange Knowles, has also gushed about the “Crazy in Love” musician. “That’s myyyy sister yalllll,” Solange, 37, captioned a video from the Maryland show via Instagram Story. “Forever in awe.”

Solange also posted a clip of her niece and Beyoncé’s oldest daughter, Blue Ivy, performing on stage with her mom. “Address me as blue’s auntie only,” Solange captioned the clip.

Beyoncé’s North American leg of her tour began on July 8 in Toronto, Canada, and is scheduled to wrap on Sept. 27 in New Orleans.

The ‘Break My Soul’ hitmaker shares three children with Jay-Z

Beyoncé may be a world famous star, but when it comes to motherhood, she’s just like the rest of us.

The award-winning singer shares Blue Ivy, 11, and six-year-old twins Rumi and Sir with husband Jay-Z, and when she isn’t busy being Queen Bey, she prefers nothing more than spending time with her kids.

Being a working mom has its challenges at the best of times, and the  ‘Break My Soul’ hitmaker previously admitted that she found it a “challenge” when it came to balancing running her empire while being there for her children and husband.

“I think the most stressful thing for me is balancing work and life,” she told Elle back in 2019.

“Making sure I am present for my kids — dropping Blue off at school, taking Rumi and Sir to their activities, making time for date nights with my husband, and being home in time to have dinner with my family — all while running a company can be challenging.”

The icon has found the perfect balance during her latest Renaissance tour though, with her firstborn Blue coming along for the ride with her own starring role in the show.
The 41-year-old is evidently so proud of Blue, and last month shared a rare personal Instagram post featuring photos and clips of her daughter strutting her stuff in a silver top and trousers ensemble complete with cool shades, Beyonce wrote: “My beautiful first born. I’m so proud and thankful to be your mama.
“You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel.”
Beyoncé’s entire family are incredibly proud of the 11-year-old, with her mom, Tina Knowles, sharing a heartfelt message dedicated to her granddaughter.

She called Blue “brave and “the coolest”, writing: “Last Night !! Blue Ivy performed in the front of a huge audience!! And yes I am a proud grandma. I am truly amazed by the courage that this brave , talented , beautiful 11 year old exhibited last night! There were almost 70,000 people in that audience.

“She danced with professional dancers, grown folks , she did complicated choreography and moves that they rehearsed for months! She rehearsed and learned this in a little over a week.

Usher has revealed his surprise connection with Beyoncé that dates back to when she was a budding pre-teen star as part of a group called The Dolls.

The R&B legend recently joined Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp in the U.K., where he explained that a studio session had put him in the same room as Bey, and he was tasked with essentially being the group’s babysitter.

“Fun fact, I knew Beyoncé when she was 12 years old, 11 years old,” he said. “She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls. I don’t know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls.

“I was at Daryl Simmons’ house. He was working with them at the time, and I just happened to be over there and they were working on a session. I kind of found my way into being their like, I don’t know, chaperone, nanny, or something like that — the oldest person in the room.”

It’s crazy to think about how much talent was in the room as Beyoncé and Usher went on to dominate the recording industry. Roughly three decades later, the pair of music titans have a combined 40 Grammy Awards and several multi-platinum plaques.

They even teamed up in 2008 on “Love In This Club II” — a sequel to his Jeezy-assisted hit — alongside Lil Wayne.

Queen Bey is still making history as her Renaissance World Tour recently became the highest-grossing trek of all time by a Black musician.

Her international roadshow has reportedly generated $296 million from 33 shows, with 23 still left on the schedule.

Additionally, she broke the all-time records for the highest-grossing concert by a female, as well as Black act, for her July 29 and 30 performances at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Each night pulled in $16.541 million for a total of $33 million.

Having secured the title of the highest-grossing Black artist ever, Beyoncé has generated a staggering $1.3 billion from the sale of 11.2 million tickets over her career.

Her Renaissance Tour is set to take over Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for three shows starting on Friday (August 11).
